Christine McArthurThe Green Room

The Green Room now has a small show of new paintings from Christine McArthur.

Our favourite is Winter Fruit, where Christine has mixed collage and acrylic paint to capture the crisp light of a January day, so fresh compared to the sultry heat in Glasgow at the moment.

Uncle Whittie’s Dreams are part of a series of mixed collaged studies of flowers, dramatic against their black backgrounds, almost Art Deco in feel. As, in a strange way, is the intriguing series of embroideries of Sutton’s Seed packets – a real piece of conceptual art.

It’s been a while since we’ve had such a fresh group of work from Christine, all challenging and provocative; even down to the series of small studies of things from the kitchen. Don’t miss them
