Euan R McGregorrecent paintings

Euan’s roots are founded in printmaking where the emphasis is on mark-making and shape and this underlies all of his work in other media.  A recurrent theme is his fascination with the marginal or fringe spaces of his environment – the coastline of Ayrshire. Using these neglected, taken-for-granted, locales as his starting point he distils their essence to their most basic forms.
Recently, while on a visit to Iceland, Euan painted some of the elegant Modernist Lutheran churches that appear around the country and many of his studies of these powerful buildings are included in this exhibition.
