Peter Howsonspiritus mundi

Has there ever been an exhibition as topical and to the point as this one? For some months Peter Howson has been reflecting on the impact of Brexit, The pit-bull toting figures seen in his 1990s paintings re-appear in a maelstrom of embattled forces reflecting the divisions in current Britain over the the country’s future following the referendum on membership of the EU. Links with similar forces in Trump’s America draw unpleasant parallels in a series of drawings which resound with energy and Howson’s dismay at the current state of politics in the two countries.
